Spirit Rising offers a different kind of experience...
We believe in healing as a whole. As we grow, we elevate the spirit in new ways...expanding consciousness and creating a peaceful way to experience life. When connecting to others who walk this same path, all manner of miracles occur... we shed heavy layers of tension, heal old wounds and the spirit can rise to greatness.
People ask me about the donation yoga classes, the shared class packages, borrowing mats and water and my answer is simple ---- When you see something that can be changed for the better, you need to do all that you can to change it. Creating a yoga studio that is welcoming to all, soul nurturing and consciousness expanding is not only a great honor and joy but my lifes mission.
The only way to have the world we want is to create it.

Barbara Bowen
Barb has been practicing and studying yoga since 2004. She completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training at Spirit Rising in 2011, and Aerial Yoga training in 2012 from AirCat Aerial. Barb teaches Aerial Yoga, which combines her love and training from ballet, gymnastics and yoga all into one fun filled class. Barb also has additional training in Reiki; Donna Eden’s Energy Medicine; and Barbra White’s Self-Acceptance Process™. Barb also has a degree in Occupational Therapy, which has provided her with a deeper knowledge of how the structure and anatomy of the body works in conjunction with yoga postures.
In her current “day job” Barb works in corporate America, where the demands and pressure would be unbearable without the tools she has acquired through her various training. She knows putting all of this knowledge into practice off the mat is a daily journey. When not practicing yoga she also loves water skiing, boating, and showing her grandchildren new yoga moves.
Barb is also available for private or semi-private Aerial sessions, for schedule availability please call or email the studio.
Bridget Pietrowicz

Bridget has been practicing and studying yoga since 2005. She completed her 200 level training in December of 2010 with Jonny Kest and is a Registered Yoga Teacher. You will find Bridget on the schedule mostly in the early mornings, as she balances many interests -motherhood, career and sports.
In motherhood Bridget uses meditation techniques to maintain a calm nonreactive mind, and her pursuit of fun in yoga class to allow herself to be playful and present with her children. In her career as a marketing director, Bridget brings the ability to collaborate and listen openly to her coworkers... a skill she continually enhances in her yoga practice by listening to her body and opening her heart.
Through her love of sports as a player and coach Bridget allows for a balanced pursuit of competitiveness while lengthening and stretching overworked, shortened, tightened muscles. Bridget's life passions shine through in her yoga teaching, as she understands that most students continually struggle with balancing all of their life responsibilities and interests. Bridget inspires her students to allow Yoga to be the thread that connects all other things in life together. You will be encouraged to shine your individual light in her class and to explore new places without ambition or fear.

I have been practicing yoga since 2004-after the birth of my second child. I found that even though I didn’t realize it at the time, yoga was a means for me to calm my mind, stretch my tight, tired muscles and help me re-focus my attention to my two loves-my children & my work with women in childbirth and during their transition into motherhood. After completing my Master’s in Naturopathy (natural health therapies) in 1998 I then went on to become a birth Doula in 1999 and have loved every minute!
In the beginning yoga was about relaxation. About actually filling my lungs with breath all the way! Now yoga has become the vehicle which has taught me so very much about myself, about my mind and body and about the world around me. ‘Going outside my comfort zone’ has been the mantra through my process of immersion in Teacher Training with Stacey at Spirit Rising and my certification as a yoga instructor (RYT 200) in 2012. Teaching yoga has already taught me so much about others and I am so blessed to be able to work with you as you stretch outside your comfort zone and grow in new levels of health, healing and love!
